JEE Main 2017

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is one of the highly popular exams among the students of engineering that is organized by the Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE. The aspirants who are willing to take admission into engineering courses like B. Tech/B.E will have to sit for paper-1. On the other hand, Paper-2 is conducted by those who want to be admitted into the architecture (B.Arch/B.Planning) courses. This entrance test is conducted every year and a huge number of students appear in this national level screening test to secure the seats in 18 IIITs, 31 NITs, and 18 GFTIs. These institutions have participated and through the tests, the seats of these educational organizations will be allotted to the students. The detailed info regarding the exam is described below.

Joint Entrance Exam Eligibility

  • E/B.TECH: The candidate should pass out the 12th exam with the combination of one language, physics, mathematics and any one subject from Biotechnology, Biology, chemistry and technical vocational subjects and any other subject. The total aggregate should be 75% and for the SC/ST or top 20 percentile, the aggregate percentile would be 65%.
  • Arch. /B. Planning: The candidate should be a 12th pass out and in this class, they should have mathematics as a mandatory subject. The minimum aggregate required for the subject is 75% whereas the top 20 percentage or the candidates belong to the SC/ST category would possess at least 65%.
  • Age Limit: The age limit is fixed by the applicants where it is stated that the candidates should be born after 1st of October 1992. The age limit of the candidates belong to the ST/ SC /PWD category will be fixed by the authority and there they have narrated that, applicants should not be born before 1st of October 1987. Only the secondary school certificate (10th class) recorded Date of birth will be considered.
  • Year of Appearance for 10+2 or Equivalent Examination:The applicants will be considered eligible for the end of the CBSE authority is they have cleared their class 12th exam or any other equivalent examination in 2015 or 2016. The appearing applicants can also sit for the JEE.
  • Number of Subjects should have in 12th Class:The number of subjects the applicants should have taken in their 12th class is five.
  • Number of Attempts:The CBSE authority will consider valid Only 3 attempts by the applicants to crack Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main.

JEE Main Application Form

The candidates who are interested and also considered eligible for the JEE may apply for the screening test with the aim to get admission in their desired colleges with their chosen course. In this case, they at first, apply through online mode by visiting the official portal www.jeemain.nic.in. The online registration process will commence from the 1st week of December in the year 2016.

Application Fee: The details of the exam fee are stated below so that the candidates don’t get confused.

Either JEE Main Paper 1 or Paper 2 (Offline Exam): Rs. 500 for Girls and Rs. 1000 for boys (General Caste) and for PwD /ST/ SC candidates Rs. 500 for both boys and girls if the centre of the exam is situated in the home country. If the exam venue is in abroad, then the fee will be Rs. 1250 for girls and 2500 for boys.

For Online Mode: The girls and the boys have to pay the equal amount of Rs. 250 for SC/ST/PwD and Rs. 500 for General Caste/OBC Boys only. The girls need to pay Rs. 250.

Both Paper 1 and Paper 2 (offline Mode): The girls have to deposit 900 and boys are required to pay Rs. 1800 as an exam fee. Rs. 900 is fixed for both genders if they belong to the ST/SC and PwD category. This fee is applicable for those who are appearing for the test in their home country. For the students whose exam centre is located abroad will have to pay Rs. 1900 and 3800.

For online Mode: For the candidates who belong to the SC/ST and PwD category will have to pay Rs. 650 and for the General and OBC candidates, Rs. 1300 for boys and Rs. 650 for girls.

JEE Main Exam Pattern 2017

The Paper-1 for JEE Main will be set with the objective type questions. This questionnaire will be available in two languages, Hindi and English. The candidates who are appearing from Gujarat, Daman, Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli will choose to write the paper in Gujarati.

The candidates with 40% or more disability, duration of exam, they will get 4 hours to complete the paper. 1/4th Negative marking are also applicable for each wrong answer.

Paper-2 will be conducted by the authority in the offline mode only. This paper will also contain objective type questions. The same norms are also available for the Paper 2 like Paper 1.

JEE Main Admit Card 2017

The authority will release the admit card of Joint Entrance Examination Main 2017 in 1st week of March 2017. The candidates will be able to download their respective admit card from the authorized portal. For the latest update, they are required to keep in touch with us until the exam will be over. It is also mandatory for the applicants to bring their admit card to the exam venue so that their candidateship will be considered valid and they will be permitted to appear for the exam.

JEE Main Answer Key by CBSE

The answer key or the paper solution of the Joint Entrance Examination Main 2017 will be also uploaded by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The students will access the paper solution at the official website for the benefit of the students. The answer key will be released for both Paper-1 and Paper-2 (all sets) and the students can compare their answers. By this way, they will be able to get the idea that how much score they can secure in the exam.

JEE Main Cut Off

The cut off marks of the Joint Entrance Examination Main 2017 will be declared by the CBSE. The minimum qualifying marks will be decided by the CBSE. Applicants have to score equal or more than the cut off to go further for the selection process. Cut off marks list will be prepared by the board and there the marks will be shown differently for each category candidates.

JEE Main All India Rank

The result of Joint Entrance Examination Main 2017 will be published in two Parts. Part-1 will have marks that are obtained by applicant in the exam. And in the Part-2, the board will declare All India Rank (AIR) of the applicants. As per the performance and the merit list, the seat will be allocated to the applicants.
